Accept others for who they are and for the choices they’ve made even if you have difficulty understanding their beliefs, motives, or actions.

B– Break Away
Break away from everything that stands in the way of what you hope to accomplish with your life.

C–Create
Create a family of friends whom you can share your hopes, dreams, sorrows, and happiness with.

D–Decide
Decide that you’ll be successful and happy come what may, and good things will find you. The roadblocks are only minor obstacles along the way.

E–Explore
Explore and experiment. The world has much to offer, and you have much to give. And every time you try something new, you’ll learn more about yourself.

F–Forgive
Forgive and forget. Grudges only weigh you down and inspire unhappiness and grief. Soar above it, and remember that everyone makes mistakes.

G–Grow
Leave the childhood monsters behind. They can no longer hurt you or stand in your way.

H–Hope
Hope for the best and never forget that anything is possible as long as you remain dedicated to the task.

I–Ignore
Ignore the negative voice inside your head. Focus instead on your goals and remember your accomplishments. Your past success is only a small inkling of what the future holds.

J–Journey
Journey to new worlds, new possibilities, by remaining open-minded. Try to learn something new every day, and you’ll grow.

K–Know
Know that no matter how bad things seem, they’ll always get better. The warmth of spring always follows the harshest winter.

L–Love
Let love fill your heart instead of hate. When hate is in your heart, there’s room for nothing else, but when love is in your heart, there’s room for endless happiness.

M–Manage
Manage your time and your expenses wisely, and you’ll suffer less stress and worry. Then you’ll be able to focus on the important things in life.

N–Notice
Never ignore the poor, infirm, helpless, weak, or suffering. Offer your assistance when possible, and always your kindness and understanding.

O–Open
Open your eyes and take in all the beauty around you. Even during the worst of times, there’s still much to be thankful for.

P–Play
Never forget to have fun along the way. Success means nothing without happiness.

Q–Question
Ask many questions, because you’re here to learn.

R–Relax
Refuse to let worry and stress rule your life, and remember that things always have a way of working out in the end.

S–Share
Share your talent, skills, knowledge, and time with others. Everything that you invest in others will return to you many times over.

T–Try
Even when your dreams seem impossible to reach, try anyway. You’ll be amazed by what you can accomplish.

U–Use
Use your gifts to your best ability. Talent that’s wasted has no value. Talent that’s used will bring unexpected rewards.

V–Value
Value the friends and family members who’ve supported and encouraged you, and be there for them as well.

W–Work
Work hard every day to be the best person you can be, but never feel guilty if you fall short of your goals. Every sunrise offers a second chance.

X–X-Ray
Look deep inside the hearts of those around you and you’ll see the goodness and beauty within.

Y–Yield
Yield to commitment. If you stay on track and remain dedicated, you’ll find success at the end of the road.

Z–Zoom
Zoom to a happy place when bad memories or sorrow rears its ugly head. Let nothing interfere with your goals. Instead, focus on your abilities, your dreams, and a brighter tomorrow.

There are things in life that we cannot control, and things that are under our full control. One of the first things we must do is get into the habit of distinguishing which is which. Then we can start to take control of our lives and our destiny.

Each day we go out into the world where we are faced with the many external influences that are not part of ourselves, not under our control, and that causes us to react in the way we do. Influences like the weather, the news, the traffic, the crowds of people or the lack of people, and the comments we hear.

When you wake up to a rainy day, versus a sunny day, do you see things differently?

When you get caught in traffic, how do you react?

When faced with an obstacle, or failure, what do you do?

How you react is under your full control. You have that freedom of choice. You can react as favorably to a rainy day as you would to a sunny day, appreciating what good the rain does, or you can complain about the clouds.

When you get caught in traffic you can get upset, which does you no good because you cannot control the traffic, or you can use the time to visualize your dreams.

When we face an obstacle you can be discouraged and even quit, or you can seek out the hidden opportunity, knowing that at least you will learn from the experience.

The problem is that most people are not taking control of what is under their control: their thoughts.

The secret is to take control of your thoughts. We all work with one infinite power. We all guide ourselves by exactly the same laws—the natural laws of the universe. The law of attraction, the most powerful law in the universe, states that whatever is going on in your mind, you are attracting to you. The law of attraction says like attracts like, so as you think a thought, you are attracting like thoughts to you.

Your thoughts of today author your tomorrow.

The law of attraction began at the beginning of time. It has always been and it will always be. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are, the law of attraction is forming your entire life experience, and this powerful law is doing that through your thoughts. You are the one who calls the law of attraction into action, and you do it through your thoughts.

A state of mind cannot be purchased, it must be created. Your states of mind are your thoughts. You can improve the quality of your life by managing your thoughts, by reframing them so that they empower rather than depress you.

As an adult, you have absolute control over your own thoughts. Your thoughts control your attitude and determine how you react to situations. Your thoughts are you! You are the author of your future.

You have created your own fears, your own limitations and barriers. You are who you are based on what you have thought about in your past.

Because you have the ability to control your own state of mind, you can overcome habits and even fears. You have the capability and the right to accept or reject your thoughts. It’s called willpower.

If you fail to control your own mind, how can you control anything else?

Control your thoughts or your thoughts will control you. There is no halfway compromise. Mind control is a result of self-discipline and habit. Keep your mind busy with a definite purpose backed by a definite plan.

Your thought process and your reactions make the difference in your life. To take control of your life you must first identify the things you have no control over versus the things you do have control over.

If your habits are controlling you, you are not alone. The lives of many people are controlled by their habits. It may be time for discipline in your life. You should be aware of your detrimental habits in order to take control. It is time to replace ineffective habits with effective ones and begin living the life of your dreams.

There are a lot of things in life that we cannot control such as the weather, the traffic, and what people say about us. Why do we let these things get under our skin? If we cannot control it, let it be.

This is a simple introduction to discipline.

However, we do need to manage what is within our control; for instance, our thoughts, our attitudes, our self-talk and our reactions. In order to exercise control, we need to be aware of certain influences.

Most people do not possess this type of discipline.

Our habits usually exist without our knowledge. However, if we introduce discipline as a daily ritual, we consciously become aware of what we are doing. We can then determine if this particular discipline is effective or ineffective. We can begin to map out a simple life plan. We can take a step forward.

Once you are able to establish the difference between effective and ineffective habits, you can take the next step. Many people assume they can simply quit a habit, but unfortunately it is never easy or simple. Bad habits cannot just be stopped; they are usually replaced with other habits, hopefully better ones.

Therefore, if you identify an ineffective habit, how can you replace it with an effective discipline? For example, if your habit is to procrastinate, then discipline yourself to complete a job and reward yourself accordingly. In other words, out with the bad and in with the good.

Take action.

You can fail but understand that any mistake is a learning opportunity and an act of courage. In order to get to where you want to go, you may take one step forward and two steps back. However, if you maintain discipline in your life, you will eventually get there and will reap the benefits.

Every accomplishment deserves praise and recognition. You know you have to fail often to succeed once. You also know that success is based on good judgment, and good judgment comes from experience. The best experiences evolve from failure.

Another discipline is giving yourself permission to fail so you may learn. Once you learn your lesson, recognize its worth and reward yourself. Any behaviour that is recognized and rewarded is repeated.

What an inspiring discipline.

The important message is that you can take control of your life with a little discipline. Discipline is defined as a commitment to the most important person in the world. It means doing what you have to do, even when you do not want to do it.

The discipline I’m suggesting you add into your life right now is awareness.

But note, any discipline will alter your life for the better. Begin today to live the life of your dreams and let discipline lead the way toward a successful future.

It is common knowledge that people buy from people they like and trust. Your first objective in a sales call is to gain the prospect’s trust and in the process, get them to like and trust you. This is known as rapport and it is the first step in the eight step “Buyer Focused”Velocity Selling System.

Without trust, prospects will mislead you and will not honestly answer your questions. You will be wasting valuable time. Traditional sales techniques can no longer be applied as most potential clients are well aware of that type of sales approach and will avoid you at all costs.

Yes, you are the most important person in the world, nonetheless, when you have a customer in front of you, he/she becomes more important. Your customer must become your priority.

At one time, we were told to follow the golden rule and “Do onto others as you would have them do onto you”. “YOU” was the main focus. However, times have changed and so has the rule. The new rule, identified as the Platinum Rule, is “Do onto others as they would do onto themselves.” Note that “YOU” has been eliminated. The time has come to accept that it is not all about you or your products and services, or your organization. It is entirely about the customer.

You must approach the sales call by focusing solely on the customer and not on yourself or what you have to offer. Instead of making appointments, ask to be invited. Instead of walking in with your bag of tricks and props, walk in with nothing but a notepad. You are making a positive statement that you are there to listen and take notes. Your customer now feels important and in control.

When you meet the customer, focus exclusively on them. Be aware! People respect others who are reminiscent of themselves. You must find commonality as quickly as possible.

One of the most powerful techniques to establish commonality or to build rapport is found in Nero Linguistic Programming (NLP). Extensive research discovered that people are able to establish rapport not through words, but through body language. The NLP Rapport Pie credits body language with 70% of rapport building, 23% tonality and only 7% attributed to words.

You have heard it before; your body language speaks louder than words. It is now a fact. Whenever you meet a prospect for the first time, they begin to judge you based on your body language. It is best to walk in holding a note book rather than a bag of props, and make a positive first impression.

The first step to building rapport with your prospects is to exude confidence and create a comfortable atmosphere. This technique is known as Mirror and Matching. You want to mirror and match body language, tonality and words.

Body language takes many forms. What have we always been told about a handshake? Well, for one, we’ve been encouraged to have a firm handshake. However, you don’t necessarily want to overpower your customer. You want to establish a good rapport.

Mirror and matching refers to taking your clues from the client. If his/her handshake is firm, yours should be too. The same applies for all body language. For example, you might try to stand like they stand, walk like they walk, and sit like they sit. However, a word of caution, do not mimic them. You want to appear natural, therefore, do not mirror and match at the same moment. Let your body language match theirs over a period of time in a very subtle manner.

The same mirror and match applies to tonality, hence you must listen carefully as they speak and be attuned to their tone, speed and expression.

Once you have mastered the appropriate body language and have achieved a rapport with the customer, ask them an open ended question. This would be a question that only they can answer. Show the customer you are sincerely interested in his/her life, family, job and organization. Your aim is to strike up a conversation. The more the customer relates, the more you listen and learn. You are well on the road to gaining their trust and amity.

Remember, the customer is #1. Treat them with sincerity and respect. You will know when you have established a good rapport. The customer will be comfortable in your presence and will answer you questions in detail. Once you have established a genuine rapport, you can move on to the next step in the “Buyer Focused” Velocity Selling System.

Stay tuned to learn more!

An Attitude of Discipline is greeting each day with gratitude. When you wake up in the morning, you are granted another day closer to living your dreams. Simply waking up each day is a poignant reason to be grateful. So many people will not wake up today.

An attitude of gratefulness is a daily discipline. Embrace an attitude of gratitude and notice how you speak differently using powerful words and how your body language greatly improves. For instance when asked how you are, what is your typical reply? Common responses are: fine, good, ok, not bad, etc. However, with a radiant attitude of gratitude you will draw on stronger words such as: excellent, fantastic, great, etc. In addition, body language speaks louder than words. Therefore, your body language proudly highlights the jubilant words.

An attitude of gratitude becomes an attitude of discipline with practice and daily implementation. Projecting a continuous attitude of discipline will ensure you feel better about yourself and in turn, increase your self respect, self confidence and self worth. Total your attributes and you yield your net worth.

Attitude is 100% within your control. Attitude is a product of your beliefs. Your attitude is a reflection of your thoughts and self talk. You must be exceedingly aware of your daily thoughts, your internal debate and justly discipline your attitude in a precise manner.

Discipline is a commitment to the most important person in the world. It means doing what you have to do even when you do not want to do it. Discipline and attitude are 100% within your control. By combining attitude and discipline, you acquire an attitude of discipline equal to a 200% increase in your overall performance. You are definitely on the path to living the life you so desire.

Any behavior that is recognized or rewarded gets repeated. If you recognize your tangible attitude and reward it accordingly, this progressive attitude gets repeated. True discipline is being highly aware of your inner conversation and thoughts and rewarding yourself for that appropriate attitude. This is ultimate discipline and the gratifying attitude will be repeated time and time again.

The problem in today’s society is most people are not aware of their attitude and possess little discipline. They tend to reward themselves without cause. If you associate recognition and reward with behavior whether it is appropriate or inappropriate, it usually is repeated.

One of many daily disciplines is waking up with an attitude of gratitude. Live the life you crave by diligently working to develop an attitude of discipline. Another important daily discipline is knowing your most productive time of the day.

Once you know your most productive time of day, dedicate at least one hour of that most productive time to the most important person in the world – You?

Maintaining the right attitude during difficult times is definitely not the easiest of tasks, but it is probably the most essential ingredient required for overcoming challenging circumstances. Unfortunately, during difficult times, such as the current financial crisis, we often unconsciously become a product of our environments and reflect our negative surroundings through pessimism.

Maintaining the right attitude requires discipline and it is this discipline that determines our success and satisfaction in life. It is important to remember that discipline, like attitude, is 100 per cent within our control. In order to maintain a positive attitude and discipline, we must truly believe in ourselves and our capabilities.

Such an attitude strengthens our most important relationship – the one we have with ourselves. We must believe that we are each here for a reason. It means having the faith that every (seemingly) unfortunate event we encounter is occurring for a reason. It may be to help build our characters, to give us a reality check or to simply get us back on the track where we belong.

Moreover, by believing in ourselves we have the confidence to face our daily and most severe challenges knowing that eventually we can overcome them. Whether it be the loss of a loved one, bankruptcy or loneliness, maintaining a positive attitude and upholding our discipline at all times is crucial for survival and the realisation of our dreams and goals.

It’s important to recognise the extent to which our thoughts can and do influence our actions and our future. If we think about losing our jobs we may actually increase our chances of it happening because what we think about is often what we attract. As the economy unpredictably moves on a downward spiral, people’s attitudes tend to follow the same erratic path.

Their pessimistic mindset causes them to fritter away time thinking and talking about “things” beyond their control instead of investing their energy on things which are within their control.

What we think about, what we say to ourselves and the manner in which we act are all part of the law of attraction. We need to be aware of our thoughts, our dialogue and our actions; and understand how they affect our overall wellbeing in order to maintain a positive attitude. We need to catch ourselves during acts of self pity, self criticism, jealousy or anger and then, replace this type of negativity with optimism.

As we become aware of potential obstacles during challenging times, it can be helpful to create contingency plans. The advantage of such planning, should a potential obstacle become a reality, is it won’t instigate a sense of urgency because the contingency plan can be quickly implemented.

Realistic goals can be outlined, planned, implemented and accomplished with the right attitude and discipline. We can endure adversity, hardship, setbacks and ultimately, achieve success in every area of our lives simply by being optimistic and consistently responsible for our actions.

These qualities award us control in the midst of trouble and heartache by allowing us to see the ‘bigger picture’ without losing sight of our goals and our future. If we embrace the right attitude and discipline when others criticise, then, we listen but refuse to allow their opinions to dictate our thoughts or direction. We accept full responsibility for all of our actions. We know who we are.

Difficult and challenging times offer the perfect opportunity to define what we want out of life. These complex times encourage us to look in the mirror and possibly reconsider where we want to go, who we want to be and what we really want to do. We must regain control of our life and our attitude. We must refuse to allow ourselves to become victims of circumstance. Moreover, these taxing times remind us to define our life goals and make them happen.

Above all, we have to remember that we alone are responsible for making a difference in our own lives. If that means a shift of attitude, acquiring some discipline and becoming self aware, isn’t it worth adopting positive habits in order live the life we crave?

Nobody can motivate you, but you! That is why it is called self-motivation. The main Self-motivation tip is the understanding that self motivation is an internal, not an external process. Self motivation starts from within.

Self Motivation Tip 1 – Have you taken the time to ask yourself where you want to go, what you want to be, do or have. The foundation of self motivation are your dreams. You have them, you just have to invest some time towards getting them out.

Self Motivation Tip 2: release all of your dreams in writing and that will start the crystallization process. Consider your pen, pencil or keyboard as a magic wand – nothing is impossible, and only what you write down can become a reality. This is bound to give you a lot of self motivation

Self Motivation Tip 3 Group, categorize and prioritise your dreams. Determine what your top priority dream is.

Self Motivation Tip 4 Determine if you are willing to pay the price – effort, time, education, money, etc. -to make that dream a reality. If so, move on.

Self Motivation Tip 5 Create a S.M.A.R..T. goal. Specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and tied to a timetable.

Self Motivation Tip 6 Define the outcomes – pretend the goal is now achieved. What would you see, feel and hear?

Self Motivation Tip 7 Before success comes a brick wall – what are some potential obstacles that can come up along the way? What is your contingency plan should that obstacle appear? It is better to have a prepared mind.

Self Motivation Tip 8 Define the skills and behaviour required to make that goal a reality.

Self Motivation Tip 9 Determine the people or groups of people who can help you achieve that goal

Self Motivation Tip 10. Create an action plan from the end result backwards

Self Motivation Tip 11 Commit to your action plan

Self Motivation Tip 12 Implement the actions identified. It all begins in the doing.

Self Motivation Tip 13 Recognize and reward yourself for doing what you said you were going to do – for being disciplined – doing what you have to do, even when you do not want to do it.

Self Motivation Tip 14 Monitor and measure your progress on a daily basis.

Self Motivation Tip 15 Be thankful – take the time to count your blessings and accomplishment.

The bottom line: The foundation of Self motivation are your dreams. It all starts with you, the most important person in the world. Taking the time to pull out all of your internal life dreams, get them in writing and taking an organized approach to making your dreams a reality. If fail to plan, you plan to fail.
