The e-Minute Tips on Motivation, Leadership and Sales

Taking Inventory

Discipline is the key. Discipline is respecting a commitment to yourself and doing what you have to do, even when you don’t want to do it."
Bob Urichuck

We all want a lot out of life. You are now focused, disciplined and ready to move into action to have more. First, take inventory of what you have now.

Take time today to list those things you have to be thankful for.

And don’t forget the obvious, the natural world -- the things we usually take for granted. Think. Compare yourself to others who are less fortunate, here at home or elsewhere in the world. What about those in hospitals and prisons? Do you have freedom? Any possessions to be thankful for? Do you have an income? What about the people in your life -- anyone there to be thankful for? How is your life -- your health, mind, body and spirit? Can you see, hear, taste, smell, and feel? Can you speak?  Are you breathing?

We are so fortunate, yet we rarely take the time to smell the roses in our lives. This too is a daily discipline. Practicing thankfulness is about not taking life for granted. Greet the morning by being thankful for receiving another day. Think of the people who would have liked to have another day, but didn’t, or those who are hanging on to life one day at a time. For all you know this could be the last day of your life.  Be thankful that you are alive.

We have so much to be thankful for, don’t we? Take time to count your blessings.

Next week, we will share the most important discipline with you.
Stay tuned!
